ABOUT
Basically I am ten thousand percent fandom -- to the extent where I don't even have to be in the fandom to appreciate its posts. Primarily my fandoms are Sherlock and Doctor Who, though I also am a fan of Marvel movies, The Hobbit and... well, things along those veins. Then again if you're here you've seen something I've reblogged so you have some sort of idea already.

I also enjoy posting about human right issues, so feel free to talk to me about those sorts of things at any time (though if you are a person who is going to be angry I may be less than enthusiastic about conversation with you -- kindness speaks louder than anger).

1. Tom Hiddleston. Yay or Nay? /judging you: YAY! Of course it’s a yay, he’s amazing!

2. What do you drink in the morning? A mug of Irish breakfast tea.

3. Why why why do you follow me? Why, why, why not? You’re brilliant and lovely and I love you more than you…

1. Usually, shared interests are a huge plus point. I do love people who post intelligent posts, though.

2. Favorite film trilogy…would probably be the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I’ve always loved those movies. Still need to get around to reading the books (I tried reading the first one, but it started out a bit too slow for me).

3. My opinion of the news is that it’s usually quite biased. It’s only human nature for the news to be biased. No matter how much people try to remain unbiased, some of the bias still lingers and permeates throughout the news. I’m not saying I don’t trust the news, but I often find myself wondering if the news if actually the full truth.

4. A moment on TV that made me cry like a baby…I don’t cry. However, there have been moments that made me go into complete shock from the sadness of the circumstances. The top, however, is the Reichenbach Fall rooftop phone call scene. I actually did get a bit teary eyed when I watched this one and I still can’t listen to “Prepared to do Anything,” “Blood on the Pavement,” or “One More Miracle” without feeling horribly depressed inside. Another one would be when Donna loses her memory in Doctor Who. I know a lot of people would pin the saddest moment on Doomsday, but I think Donna’s fate is far more depressing. At least Rose gets her Doctor (not her Doctor, but you know what I mean). Donna will never remember the beautiful things she’s seen, or the things she learned with the Doctor. She loses her best friend and she doesn’t even know it and if she does try to remember, she’ll die. And the Doctor has to just stand by and let it happen because, even thought he wants her to remember, he’d much rather she stay alive and happy and painlessly oblivious, and that’s what kills me.

5. My favorite animated movie would probably be Howl’s Moving Castle or any Disney movie (Yes, I’m aware that this is cheating, but hush). I just love the colors and the scenery and the artwork. It literally sends shivers down my spine.

6. I’ve already answered this one here (the very last question).

7. I don’t have a favorite book genre, per say. I love books that have deeper meaning. I adore books that make me think afterward and that leave a pleasantly painful ache in my chest. I love books that I can get attached to and sucked into, books that make me forget everything in the outside world and let me enter another world where I won’t be bothered by mundane things like homework and people. I’m not sure if that counts as a genre, but there it is.

8. My favorite Harry Potter film would probably be the third one. My favorite book…oh, god. I don’t think I can choose just one, but I would most probably go with the last one, simply because it was such a beautiful ending to what will probably be the best book series of all time.

9. I don’t think I have a favorite, but it would probably be a tie between this and this (which actually has three parts, but yeah).

10. Hot shower. Usually, on hot days, I make it cold at the very end just to cool off before getting out, though.

11. I actually have a list of quotes that I adore, but if I had to choose one, it would probably be A Nietzeshe one: “The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.” This completely encompasses one of my main ways of looking at the world. Differences should be celebrated not feared. The world would be so boring if everyone was the exact same as everyone else. There would be no originality. No art. No music. No literature. Just a horrible stagnation of thought. Nothing would move forward.

Okay, I think that’s the last of the questions that I was tagged in, so I guess I need to think of questions now. Sorry if they suck. I’ve never been good at thinking of questions.

Ahem.

1. If you could go back to one point in your life, which time would you choose? Why?

2. If you had the undivided attention of every single human being on the planet for five minutes, what would you say?

3. Do you consider yourself to be a good person? What do you think makes a good person, anyway?

4. What is one thing that you find absolutely annoying? This can be in other people, in the world in general, in yourself, or anything else.

5. How did you find tumblr?

6. What is one pivotal event in your life that changed it for the better?

7. Who is the person you trust most?

8. Imagine you’re walking down the street. It is night time and you come across a woman who is standing under a lamp. She says she must speak with you and that it is urgent. You follow her and allow her to speak to you. She gives you a key and tells you that if you drag it along the cracks in a nearby wall, a door will open and only you will be able to see what is in within. What will you see?

9. What is your favorite period in human history? Why?

10. If you could have tea with anyone, living or dear, with whom would you have tea? Why?

11. How were you introduced to your favorite fandom?

A’IGHT I GOT QUESTIONS TO ANSWER, YO :D

1. If you could go back to one point in your life, which time would you choose? Why?

Hmm…. I don’t think I’d go back to change anything, but I would like to go back and visit some of the things that happened in my childhood. Even if just for record-keeping purposes.

2. If you had the undivided attention of every single human being on the planet for five minutes, what would you say?

“Help each other. Love each other. You’re more alike than you know. Find out about each other, learn about each other, share your stories, your resources. You’re all in this together. You’d be surprised what things will happen when you just open your eyes and open your heart.”

3. Do you consider yourself to be a good person? What do you think makes a good person, anyway?

No, I don’t. I’m just… I’m just me. But I don’t feel the need to be anything other than that, so it’s okay. What makes a good person is trying to do good things, I guess. That’s about the best definition I can give..

4. What is one thing that you find absolutely annoying? This can be in other people, in the world in general, in yourself, or anything else.

When people are mean to each other. I mean, seriously, why do it? What do you have to gain from it?

5. How did you find tumblr?

My friend posted something on her tumblr and wanted to show me, so she sent me the link. I wanted to bookmark it, so I made a tumblr. I didn’t use it for like months, though.

6. What is one pivotal event in your life that changed it for the better?

I think one of the things that changed me for the best, surprisingly, was losing out to a cheater for valedictorian. If I had won the scholarship that came with it I would be in a completely different school instead of where I am now, and I would be miserable. Even the worst things have a bright side, yes?

7. Who is the person you trust most?

I don’t have just one person I trust the most. Pretty much anyone I call a ‘friend’ I trust. :3

This is…. This is heavy, man. I don’t… I don’t even know. I’m trying to picture it, but all I’m getting is a big blank white space with light. Some flowers… a field, evidently.

9. What is your favorite period in human history? Why?

I really, really love the neolithic and bronze ages. I’m not sure why, just something about living before all of the technology we have now appeals to me.

10. If you could have tea with anyone, living or dead, with whom would you have tea? Why?

MARTIN CRIEFF EVEN IF BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH WOULDN’T

11. How were you introduced to your favorite fandom?

My friend copperspecks :3

——————

Okay, now it’s my turn to make questions!

1) What is your favorite memory?

2) How much does happiness mean to you?

3) If you could change one thing in the world, what would you choose?

4) What is one thing that happened in your life that was terrible, but that you wouldn’t change for the world?

5) If you could ask your future self one question and get an answer, what would you ask?

6) Where do you see yourself on your fiftieth birthday?

7) What is one thing you wish someone in the past had? This can be a historical figure, someone you knew growing up, or just a random person.

8) If you could erase one person’s death from history, who would it be? Why?

9) Your best friend is dying. You can give up fifteen of your years to save them, but you will never see them again, and they will not remember you. Alternatively, you could not donate your fifteen years of life, and they will die a happy but painful death. What do you do?

10) What about for a stranger?

11) What is one thing you’ve always wanted to be asked but no one ever asked?

JW: *Looks vaguely surprised, glancing around at the store.* Vegetables in the produce section.. Dairy products all along one wall.. Seemed to be okay to him.* Erm, right. Not sure how people even get their shopping done in this mess. *Grins, clearly teasing.* Tell you what.. I'll push the cart, you just chuck whatever looks good in, okay?
